The Helix, Falkirk
The Helix
The Helix is the home to ‘The Kelpies’, giant 30 metre tall horse heads, providing a unique and beautiful landmark. The Helix is also home to Scottish Water’s 100th Top Up Tap!
The Helix was borne from an idea in 2003 to build an ecopark as part of the Falkirk Greenscape Initiative, transforming 350 hectares of land between Falkirk and Grangemouth. Today, The Helix connects 16 local communities through our extensive path networks stretching over 27km.

100th Top Up Tap
The Helix is home to Scottish Water’s 100th Top Up Tap, named the ‘Flow-er of Scotland’ by Forth 1, Clyde 1 and Tay FM listeners in 2023.
HYDRATION FOR A NATION
Since the launch of Scottish Water’s Top Up Taps in 2018, up until the 100th Tap was installed in 2023, the equivalent of over 5 million single use plastic bottles have been dispensed from the taps.
