The Helix, Falkirk

The Helix

The Helix is the home to ‘The Kelpies’, giant 30 metre tall horse heads, providing a unique and beautiful landmark. The Helix is also home to Scottish Water’s 100th Top Up Tap!

The Helix was borne from an idea in 2003 to build an ecopark as part of the Falkirk Greenscape Initiative, transforming 350 hectares of land between Falkirk and Grangemouth. Today, The Helix connects 16 local communities through our extensive path networks stretching over 27km.

Winter Walk

The Helix Park is home to one of Scotland’s most popular paths around the famous Kelpies. You can take in the 300-ton beauties as you top up from the tap, and walk, run or cycle on a 4.3km round trip. There is a car park and fantastic public transport to and from The Helix Park, and if you’re feeling adventurous, why not begin from the tap and make your way to the Falkirk Wheel on a 6km trip boasting two of Scotland’s marvels!
